Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you always wanted to know about Photo Tour Palma... but were afraid to ask
Photo Tour Palma / Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Photo Tour?

A Photo Tour (also called a photowalk) is just that: a guided photographic tour.

It is a very innovative type of photography workshop, essentially practical, with the characteristics of a walking tour. You will learn how to use your camera better, taking beautiful pictures while visiting the most interesting places in the city.

Who is it intended for?

The Photo Tour is ideal for photography enthusiasts and anyone who is curious and adventurous, looking for a new way to visit Majorca.

Our routes are designed to easily adapt to different skill levels, from complete beginners to the most experienced amateurs.

What camera do I need?

To enjoy the photo tour to the fullest, you can use any analogue or manual camera, whether mirrorless, SLR or compact. The important thing is that it can be used in manual (M) and semi-automatic (S and T, Av and Tv in the case of Canon) modes.

To find out, take a close look at your camera’s controls and, above all, check the manual. If you find these symbols, you’re in luck!

Today’s mobile phone cameras can take excellent photos. However, I recommend reading more below.

Can I participate using my mobile phone?

I don’t recommend it. Our Photo Tours aim to understand and control the variables of photographic exposure: (aperture, shutter speed, ISO). Mobile phone cameras are designed to be used in automatic mode and it can be very difficult (if not impossible) to access the settings we will learn to use during the tour, and we don’t want it to be a frustrating experience for you.

What should I bring?

Your camera, of course, whether it’s mirrorless, SLR or compact, usable in manual mode.

If you have additional lenses and accessories (tripod, flash, filters, remote control), feel free to bring them along. In this case, I recommend putting them in a rucksack and not overdoing it with the weight. The routes are done on foot and involve the occasional staircase, so choose comfortable clothing and suitable footwear.

Summer in Palma can be very hot: don’t forget water and something to protect you from the sun.

Why does it cost less than other photo tours?

Let’s be clear: if guided tours are usually expensive, photography tours are overpriced!

This happens because it is a product aimed at tourists from countries with higher purchasing power, who don’t mind paying a fortune to enjoy a positive experience.

At Photo Tour Palma, we know that this is not the case for everyone, and we don’t think it’s right to charge more than what a photography workshop of the same duration and content would normally cost here in Spain. A fair price, for you and for us.

I like it, I want to take part in a Photo Tour!

Great! Follow these simple steps:

  1. Select your preferred photo tour in the booking system.
  2. Choose one of the available dates, enter your contact details and the number of participants; you will receive a confirmation email.

You can also book by email or telephone, including WhatsApp!

If you would like a personalised tour, we recommend that you contact us as far in advance as possible to ensure availability on the day and so that we can organise your visit in detail.

Is booking required?

Yes, to guarantee your place on the photo tour and allow us to tailor the visit to your needs, we strongly recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance.
If you were unable to book and still wish to participate, we recommend that you call us directly or send us a message via WhatsApp, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
However, only by booking will your Photo Tour be guaranteed.

When and how is payment made?

Don’t worry: you won’t owe anything at the time of booking. Payment is made on the day of the tour, simply and securely.

In any case, we ask that you notify us if you decide to cancel or modify a booking.

Currently, you can pay in cash, with Bizum or by bank transfer; we are working on adding more payment methods. If you need an invoice, just send us your details.

I would like to book a private tour.

A private Photo Tour is ideal if you are looking for an experience that is completely tailored to your interests and requirements: therefore, it takes time to organise.

Please contact us as far in advance as possible, using whichever channel is most convenient for you (email, mobile phone, WhatsApp, contact form) to check availability on the day (or days) of your choice. Please also tell us what you would like to do, the equipment you use and your interests.

We will reply promptly and prepare a proposed itinerary and a quote, with no obligation. Please note that the price of the personalised tour includes any admission fees.

What if I have special needs?

Of course, you can participate. However, like all historic cities, Palma still has architectural barriers. Let us know when you book and we will choose an itinerary that is 100% accessible.

If you prefer, you can book a private Photo Tour at the same price as the regular tours.

Can I bring my children?

Of course! Minors must always be accompanied by a responsible adult who will be in charge of them throughout the visit.

Please bear in mind the length of the tour (several hours) and the walking involved (including stairs) when deciding whether it is suitable for your children.

What if it rains?

We will cover ourselves and protect the cameras, without missing the opportunity!

What they call ‘bad weather’ actually offers different lighting conditions that can result in unique photographs, and cloudy skies provide a special atmosphere.

Of course, if it is going to pour with rain, the photo tour will be suspended and we will choose another date to reschedule it.
